Driving

Yesterday my Webb wouldn't nap so I decided we'd take a trip to Walmart to pick up a few things. Just as we left the neighborhood, his little eyes got heavy and he was soon fast asleep. I didn't have it in me to wake him up for a trip in to Walmart, so I decided we'd just ride. I stopped and got a sweet tea, opened the sunroof and headed out of town. We drove out to the country close to where we used to live and my goodness, it was absolutely beautiful! The fall colors were simply vibrant. The sunshine was so warm and to have a sleeping baby in the back seat was picture perfect. It's amazing what a little drive will do for the soul. And for a sleeping Little.

Our trip

These last 10 days have been sooooo nice! I am so thankful we had the opportunity to take a big trip. We had an early flight Friday morning so we spent the night in Charlotte Thursday night so we could sleep a little later and then head to the airport. Here is a picture of Webb and I as we were taking off. He did so well sitting in my lap. Thank goodness for the portable DVD player and lots of snacks!

We were able to board the ship that afternoon around noon. Webb napped in the stroller and was WIDE open by the time we got settled in our room!

Webb loved looking out the window. Those are nose drops in his hand. He loves his nose drops. Weird.

And after the baby goes to bed, mommy and daddy start putting a dent in that Sea Pass Card! You know, the kind you just swipe and it's like imaginary play money you never really see. :)

The first day on board, I booked a spa treatment for myself. I decided on the Deep Tissue Massage- an hour of pure bliss. The spa was at the back of the boat. It was so relaxing and so so beautiful. Definitely one of the best moments of the week!

The rest of week, we just played a lot. They had a little Tot program for Webb were he could go play each morning. It was nice that there were other children on board for him to play with. There were a few days Chris and I sat by the pool or in the hot tub. Thanks to Mimi and Pawpaw for allowing us some time alone!

I guess one thing about cruising is that you can't predict the weather. A day or so before reaching Bermuda, the captain informed us of a tropical storm that was nearing. We had to cut our stay in Bermuda by half a day but we still made the most of it and had a great time! I'll let the pictures speak for themselves!

Heading to Hamilton for a day of shopping

Beautiful buildings- The yellow one, Calypso, had the most beautiful shoes!

At a beautiful park we found right in the middle of down town!

At the beach- what Webb talked about the WHOLE time.

One of our many nights out. Not shown: the huge Bahama Mama I was sipping on!

With the expert climber. I have a new respect for ANYONE who climbs. My whole body is sore. Even my fingers. It was hard but my coach cheered me on and I did it!

I've had a lot of people ask how Webb did. He did great. I think if you put any Little on a boat during naptime or bedtime, you'd have no problem getting them to go to sleep. He slept like a little nugget every night and loved his bed they fixed for him. The only difficult part was keeping him from running everywhere! He loves those wide open spaces and a cruise ship is full of them for sure! We are talking about booking another one and maybe this time leaving Little at home. Is that terrible? Nah.

Friday Friday!

Just a little update since we got back from our big "adbenture" as Webb calls it.

1. I am so thankful we had the opportunity to take a big trip! This past week was much needed and so many memories were made for our family. Pictures to come!

2. I loved coming home. It's crazy what a week will do to the leaves during the fall. The neighborhood looks so beautiful all covered in fall colors.

3. I'm very sad for a dear friend of my sisters who lost her sister this week to cancer. I hate cancer. I'm sending a lot of prayers up for Susan and her family during this horrible time.

4. A certain little someone came bee-bopping in our room this morning looking for his milk. I can't believe he climbed out of his crib AND got down the stairs without a single peep. Little STINKER!

5. I'm looking forward to planning and hosting our neighborhood's Christmas party! I love parties and entertaining so this should be fun! Better get to finishing up my house!

Hope you're all doing well! I'll be back later for a post on "Bermooda."

Our Weekend

My weekend started a little early when on Friday, Mimi texted to let me know Webb woke up with a fever. He had had one that morning but it came down with Motrin. I knew we were getting sick when it continued. The doctor couldn't get us in until Saturday morning. Friday night, I slept with Webb in the guest room. Poor little thing was burning hot . . . enter many more rounds of Motrin. We headed to the doctor that morning and she thought he had strep. It came back negative but she went ahead and gave him an antiobiotic. It was pretty much what I had (and what the rest of the world has this time of year) and I felt so badly for passing on my germs! So Saturday we spent the day at home, resting, watching t.v. and playing a little. It was nice outside so we walked uptown for icecream and saw the piggies. That was about the only time my sweet boy smiled all day! Today, he didn't feel much better so again we just stayed in and rested. I got some things done around the house to spruce it up for fall. It's starting to really feel like home around here!

Basically, he can repeat any word we say. We have to REAAAALLY watch what comes out of our mouths!

Learning: He can count to 10, sometimes skipping a few numbers and can say his alphabet! He jumbles the letters together but it's precious to hear him say it. He will draw for short periods of time and is obessessed with drawing clocks. We are taking music class one day per week which I think he really enjoys! It's nice to watch him interact with other children but some days I end up pulling him off every piece of furniture in the room! I love that we have something that just the two of us can do together that's just for him. Chris and I talked about starting him in preschool but feel he's still just a little young. Definitely next fall though!

Petting a horse at the fair!

We have some fun things plannned this fall and are looking forward to our big trip in a few weeks. It will be Webb's first time on an airplane so any and all tips are appreciated! All I know is that I'm ready for some sun, relaxation, fruity beverages for grown-ups and snorkeling!

These two crazy cats at a wild and crazy birthday party. Is that not adorable!?

Always climbing!
