Weekend Fun!

This was another fabulous weekend! I live for the weekends- time with family and friends always makes life a little sweeter. Saturday, we went uptown to the BBQ Cookoff with Carrie and her crew and listened to good bluegrass and walked around. The weather was overcast and cool- perfect for our Littles. We had to stop and see the pot bellied pig- Webb absolutely loves animals and gets a kick out of petting them! On Sunday, the sun came out so we decided to put the boat in and take advantage of the beautiful day. It was awesome out on the lake and Webb LOVED helping daddy drive!

Saturday afternoon we visited with Harry Hat . . .

We did a little deck sittin' (in pjs of course!) . . .

We went to church . . . .

Someone at church said this is what a little boy ought to look like. I can't agree more. :)

After our boat ride!

And, Webb's new favorite . . .

Hope you all had a great weekend too!

Congratulations Are in Order

Two very special people in my life have recently been accepted into graduate school and I wanted to take a minute to spot light them for a change. Tonight I am in the presence of my 36 year old husband who has decided to pursue a higher education by starting with the Certificate Program at UNCG in NonProfit Management. If things go as planned, he'll continue on for a Master's in Public Affairs. I can't say how exceedingly proud I am of his unwavering ambition to better himself through learning. He is incredibly bright and talented in so many ways and will offer so much to their program. Most importantly, I know he'll take what he learns to better his community through his work. He supported me through graduate school and now it's my turn to help him get through this. Congrats, sweet Chris. You da man! :)

My sister also found out today that she's been accepted into the Fuqua Business School at Duke University! This was something she set out to achieve a year ago and SHE DID IT! It took a lot of hard work and determination and LOTS of calculus but she did well and will start this summer, I believe. When I found out today, it was one of the happiest moments in a long time . . . no one deserves this more than my sister. She is absolutely one of the smartest, most well-read people I know and will use her talents well. She too will add a lot to the program at Duke and will take away so much new learning. If our daddy were here, he'd be so so excited. He always pushed us to pursue a higher education and now we can say that both daughters have/are accomplishing this! Congrats to you, dear Headly Lamar. I admire you so and wish you the best in your journey.

Low Key Weekend

This weekend was so nice! I have no pictures to share (surprising, I know :) but we enjoyed being around the house and enjoying some rest time. On Friday night, Chris and I had a little date night to Salisbury where we ate at this yummy place:

We ate outside and split a huge Greek pizza. It was a laid back evening . . . just the kind I like!

On Saturday, we ran a few errands and then went to lunch at La Carretta. It was nice to eat outside on their patio because it was enclosed and Webb could walk around. He ate refried beans like a champ. Remind me to stock that diaper bag with extra shirts and pants! :) We then came home, Webb and I both took naps, and then we just hung out around here and grilled out for dinner. Another laid back night!

Today was rainy and cold so we stay in most of the day except for a trip to Walmart. I again got a nap while daddy mopped. Good daddy. :) Tonight when I was putting Webb to bed, I was rocking him and he looked like a little angel. I am savoring each minute of these days as he's growing so fast. My heart is so so full.

Hope you all have a great week!

Spring Break Means . . . .

I have enjoyed a long break off from work over Easter and it has been wonderful! We have had so much fun playing and relaxing- it will be hard to go back tomorrow but I'm ready to get back into the routine. Summer break is just around the corner and I know the days between now and the end of school are going to be crazy so I have tried to soak in every bit of time with my family this week. Here is our week in pictures!
