Sixteen Month Little

Today marks the 16th month in the life of Little Webb. Tonight as I was snuggling him close before bed, I thought about how 16 months ago, our lives changed for the absolute best. I wouldn't trade anything for the love and laughter he has brought into our home. Looking into those big brown eyes, I see so much sparkle, energy, and promise for a life rich in happiness and success. I pray every single day that Chris and I make the right decisions to help guide him along that path. I know there will be heartache and pain, disappointment and worry, but it is my hope that he will perservere and turn out to be a fine, well-mannered young man. One who removes his hat before eating, stands to greet his elders, opens the door for others, loves others, treats others with respect despite differences, and helps others in need.

Here we are with some 16 month updates:

1. Eating- loves strawberries, Cheerio's, bean soup, sweet potatoes, avocado, salmon, omlettes, grits, bacon, goldfish, apples, and milk. Lots of milk.

2. Sleeping- Like a champ. :) One two to three hour nap every afternoon and goes to bed around 8 and sleeps til 6:30 or 7ish.

3. Clothes- size 18-24 months.

4. Books- Big Red Barn, 1st Word Book, On the Night You Were Born, Elmo, Wiggly Safari, The Hungry Caterpillar

5. Words- Yes, ba ba (belly button), ight (light), uch (church), ca,ca (car), ock (lock), dees (keys), Dada, out, Maa (moo),

6. Things to do: Moo like a cow, hiss like a snake, make siren noises, watch things go round and round, dance, drive your car, slide, walk in the driveway, swing, play with puzzles, blocks, read books, brush teeth, go to the park, climb stairs, take a bath, imitate us, flush the toilet, help with laundry, wash your hands.

Here are some pictures of Webb this weekend!

To Everything

There is a season, turn, turn, turn
And a time to every purpose, under Heaven

A time to be born, a time to die,
A time to plant, a time to reap,
A time to kill, a time to heal,
A time to laugh, a time to weep

To everything, turn, turn, turn,
There is a season, turn, turn, turn
And time to every purpose, under Heaven

A time to build up, a time to break down,
A time to dance, a time to mourn,
A time to cast away stones, a time to gather stones together

To everything, turn, turn, turn,
There is a season, turn, turn, turn
And time to every purpose, under Heaven

A time of love, a time of hate,
A time of war, a time of peace,
A time you may embrace, a time to refrain from embracing

To everything, turn, turn, turn,
There is a season, turn, turn, turn
And time to every purpose, under Heaven

A time to gain, a time to lose,
A time to rend, a time to sow,
A time for love, a time for hate,
A time for peace, I swear it's not too late . . .

I miss you daddy. I wish you were here to see Little Webb. You would be so proud.

It's the Little Things

Today, it's all about the little things. It's about watching your child slide by himself for the first time, letting go to watch him go without a hint of hesitation. It's about watching him cram his little face full of spaghetti with all the enthusiasm in the world as his little hands struggle to force the floppy sloppy noodles closer and closer. It's about finding fresh flowers in the bathroom because the Hubs went grocery shopping and "thought they were pretty." It's about having lunch with a friend and having a student write you and tell you the "looooooooove you very very very very much." It's about inlaws that treat you like family and help you wipe up said spaghetti noodles which are mushed all over the high chair. It's about rocking a freshly bathed and powered Little to sleep all cuddled up in your lap. It's about realizing how blessed you are in a world smothered in adversity.

What are your "Little Things?"

Weekend Recap

This weekend was a lot more calm than last- thank goodness! We enjoyed a nice dinner in on Friday night and early bed time for everyone. On Saturday we went uptown to the coffee shop, the teacher store, where we got Webb this musical instrument kit. He loves the shakers and clackers.

We went to the YMCA and met some of the athletes at Special Olympics and then had lunch uptown. Then we came home, I took a nap while Webb did and Chris mowed. We ended the evening at Kings Crab Shack and Oyster Bar in Winston, our new favorite restaurant!

On Sunday, we played here at home and then went to visit Mimi and Pawpaw for lunch. Chris' mom had a little table that she used when she was small and had pulled it out for Webb to use. Chris took a picture of us working at his table.

After lunch, Chris and I ran errands while Webb napped. We all spent the afternoon playing outside. It was a wonderful weekend . . . just what I needed!

The precious Love of my Life.

Catching Up

Hello! It really has been forever since I've written. I've been very busy with a friend's wedding- prepping for her shower, luncheons, rehearsals, etc. The big day was this past Saturday and we had the best time! It was a wonderful day with sweet friends. Here is my handsome Chris and me at the reception.

In other news, we got Webb's hair cut for the first time! You really wouldn't think he needed one, but in the back, he had this little bit of fluff that just needed to be trimmed. I like a clean cut boy. :)

His Pawpaw just happened to be getting his hair cut that day too so we went in right after he finished so he could hold you while David trimmed it.

Maybe a little unsure . . .

Yes, we got a certificate. It was precious and Webb did really well. It seems so cheesy to take pictures of a little hair trim, but I know in 40 years, I'll look back and have an small memory to hold on to. These days are passing too quickly . . .

And for the record: These two completely steal my heart each and every day. I am so lucky to have such sweet boys in my life.

Hope everyone has a good week!
