Darn skippy!

I got my baby back!

Let's just say that this ear infection has thrown us all for a loop! You have been a pretty predictable little guy- going to bed around the same time each night, sleeping through without a peep, napping two hours after you wake up, playing, and then taking another good nap in the afternoon. Last week was just a mess. You were wakeful at night, restless, cranky, and just plain pitiful. You wouldn't nap except for a car ride and then when I'd try to put you in your crib, you just screamed. Daddy and I  were worn out too! Thankfully, you are back on track today! You slept 13 hours last night- I don't think you even moved. You woke up and played and went back down for your morning nap as usual. We are happy that you're happy and that the ear infection is clearing up! We are excited about our first big family beach trip next week!

Waking up a happy Little!

I don't think you can get any sweeter than you are first thing in the morning.

8 Months Old!

You have arrived at your eighth month of life! Goodness, the summer is going by quickly and you continue to change with each passing week! Here are some 8 month updates!

*You are still wearing 9-12 month clothing.
*You go to sleep around 7:30 or 8:00 and don't make a peep until 6 or 6:30 the next morning.
*You will sit and listen to someone read to you. You love Pigeon Finds a Hotdog, Three Billy Goats Gruff, and of course, Commotion in the Ocean.
*You love mirrors and wave and smile at yourself. Sometimes you try to 'kiss' yourself!
*You have learned to wave at people. Any people, strangers or not. And it's cute how your whole arm waves up and down.
*You LOVE LOVE handles, drawer pulls, knobs, straps, tags, and wheels.
*You love Scotch and try to pounce and crawl all over her. She lets you most days. Other days she just walks away only to have you try once more. Isa, well, she is a different story.
*You have learned to pull up in your crib. You are pulling up on any and every thing in this house. You are not happy unless you are standing up!
*You enjoy watching the washer/dryer go round and round. You also love the doorstop next to the mudroom door.
*You are still eating lots of solids and you like Puffs.
*You have a double ear infection! You were fussy last week and when you woke up fussy this morning, I decided to take you! You are now taking bubble gum medicine and feeling better already! I knew we had to get you well for our fun trip next week!

The top of your little head . . .

Precious, happy Little! (Now that I look back, I see how peaked you look. Bless you for being so sweet even when you weren't feeling good!)

So happy 8 months, to my sweet sweet Little.

I give it two more months and you'll be walking . . . .

Goose Goose!

I'm pretty sure there's another post in here somewhere by the same title, or something similar like Silly Goose. That's kinda what I've been calling you lately but as with everything else, I say everything twice like Sophie is "Sophie Sophie" and bath time is "tub tub." So lately you've been mama's Goose Goose! You are still in to everything and are teething like a crazy person! Here are some Silly Goose pictures from this last week. We are celebrating your 8 month birthday on Monday and I'm going to take some sweet pictures of you! (If you'll be still long enough. HA!)

Under the chair!

This has been your new look lately- a hot, slobbery mess! :)

"Whatcha doin' in my chair?"

Week of new things!

This has been one busy week for us! We have gone to the pool and done lots of playing and running errands! Aside from that, you did three new things this week and did so well with each of them! First, you stayed with mommies two best friends while she took Mams to the airport. I made sure to pack all of your favorite things and plenty of food for the day. You did so well and even took a good nap at Christy's house! You also stayed in the child care room at the YMCA for the first time! It was time for mommy to get to work on her figure and without anyone to babysit, I was forced to make this decision. And what a great one it was! It's so convenient and you seem to enjoy playing with the toys and watching the big kids. I was really (overly) nervous about sending you there but it was good for both of us! You ALSO went and stayed with another one of mommies friends and her 3 children, one of whom is about your age! You had a wonderful time at her house and seemed to do well despite a short nap! I am happy that you seem to handle transitions well. I think it was harder on me than it was on you! I want you to be a well rounded, social child and I think we're taking some baby steps in the right direction. This week we also went and saw Baby Will and Liza in Salisbury. We played, ate lunch, and caught up. You were precious and well behaved. Today we took a short trip to the Y, came home, played, napped, and played some more. I have had little time for pictures this week but here are a few. In other news, I have begun thinking about your first birthday. Is it time already?! I'm afraid so, Little Punker. You are growing and growing and moving constantly. Your newest favorite game is to climb over dad and me when we're playing on the floor with you. You certainly think you're big stuff. I think you're the best thing since Hershey's kisses.

Pulling up on the jogger. Safe, no. Fun, oh yes!

Poolin' it with Daddy

Before bed silliness

You go to bed happy most nights- with Mr. Giraffe tucked in your arm.

Working hard!

Heavy Heart

Today I stumbled upon a blog that I wish I'd never read. Ever since I read this poor child's story, my heart has ached for him and his parents. Please take a moment to read their story and say a prayer for this family. I usually don't post things like this but it hits home when you see a child the same age as yours going through something so terrible.

Words

You have started saying abba, abba, abba, now when you are happy or attempting to climb up or pull up on something. I'm starting to wonder if you will be a junky one day.

Now we're waiting for you to say "Mama Mia!"

Love you, little Dubs!

Cool as a Cucumber!

I forgot to mention in my last post that you have two teeth! They are on the bottom in the middle. I can't get a picture because you won't sit still long enough! I did snap some cute pictures of you gnawing on a cold cucumber!

Beach Baby and July 4th!

Last week, we took you to OKI. It was your second trip down, but your first for the summer. We lathered you up, got you all dressed and took you out to the beach every day. If you weren't playing in your tub, you were sleeping in your stroller or playing with us in the water.

Here's your first impression of the ocean!

Poor little pouty face!

Daddy carrying you

Mommy kisses

We took you to Southport, had lunch at Provision Company, and walked around.

Of course, we got ice cream at Spikes!

Provision Co. Fun

Last day on the beach

Playing in your tub on the porch!

When we got home, we got busy working on our 4th of July party! The rain and storms came, but we still had so much fun!

I sure do love my Mimi and Pawpaw!

Handsome boy!

So after this whirlwind of a vacation and party planning, we're hanging out around the house, enjoying boat rides, and quiet time until our next fun vacation in a few weeks!
