Ok Stephanie! I'm copying you! I am doing a fall bucket list too because fall is my all-time favorite season. There's so much to do- especially with little ones!
1. Visit Thomas at High Rock Nursery to see the pumpkin patch, corn maze, and ride the new pumpkin train!
2. Stop by my favorite coffee shop, Perfect Blend for a pumpkin spice latte!
3. Take Webb to our neighborhood Halloween party and go trick-or-treating with friends.
4. Run/walk in the Hog Run.
5. Take a day trip to the mountains to see the leaves.
6. Visit Pilot Mountain and go hiking.
7. Plan Webb's 2nd birthday. I'm excited about inviting his little friends this year!
8. Visit the fair- We actually did that tonight! Webb rode the train and the Merry Go Round. We ate fair food and saw the animals. It was a fun night!
9. Decorate our home with fall decorations!

The River
There's this beautiful place called the New River. It was my second trip there; the first being way before Webb was born. We went tent camping or "roughing it" as I call it. I fell in love with this "A River Runs Through It" type river with it's wide meandering waters and tree lined banks. I had the opportunity to revisit that place again this weekend with a good friend who invited us to stay at her family's place. I saw the river in a new light; still with it's beautiful waters and trees, but now through the eyes of a bright eyed, brown eyed little boy. There wasn't a moment of his waking hours that he wasn't digging in the dirt, playing with bugs, running around nekkid, or catching bugs and walking in the river. I watched Chris show him how to paddle the kayak. I sat by the fire and talked with a friend I've known all my life and reconnected with her as a mom and wife. I drank coffee in the cool mountain morning while the fog lifted from the Earth. I watched Chris paddle away down the river- knowing how much that solitude meant to him. I watched Webb run free and squeal. I saw a million stars in the sky and thought about my place in this wide wide world. I heard old stories about my father from a lifelong friend of his who has a place there too. I spent time with people I love in a place I love. It was a perfect weekend at the River. Just what I needed.
Happy Week Everyone!

Hello There!
We're here! Just been busy getting back in the school routine, doing things around the house, and playing a lot. The first two weeks of me being back at work have been awesome . . . Webb has settled into his routine of going to his sitter's and his Mimi's during the week. My class is a precious group of children and I'm lucky to have such a great team to help me so it's been pretty good! On the Webb end of things, we have enjoyed some fun, laid back weekends and afternoons at home. Webb was promoted to the Two By Two class at church so we've been going to Sunday school for the past few weeks. They are even starting one for young parents so we're excited about going too. This is what happens when you take your Little to church and he finds the mop bucket:
These girls had a ball pushing him up and down the hall. Lord help me!
I was also able to snap this picture with my phone of Webb with his grandparents. I guess everyone got the blue memo. And we love Pawpaw in his seersucker!
Saturday we went uptown for a bit. He wanted to sit on this little step so we did.
Those are his new shoes or his "new newies" as he calls them. I finally found a great place in town to buy his shoes. It was so nice to just run uptown and get them and not have to drive to Winston!
We had a great night Saturday because Nancy came to spend the night with us! She went to church with us and spent the day hanging out. While Webb napped we curled up and did school work together and then took long naps too. We ended the day at mom's neighborhood picnic where Webb learned to play cornhole!
What a silly goose!
I can't believe that in two short months, my Webb will be two years old! He is still my baby but is getting more independent every day. He has become quite the helper around here; throwing things away for us and such. Some of his favorite sayings are
Wake her up
Thomas is on
Webb night night
Mama/Daddy take a shower
Stir it up
Drink a milk
Raining again
Sit down, Go upstairs
Hi Webb
Put it back
Fall a mud
Stuck a mud
Be careful
Good idea/good thinking
Draw a picture
He is still very much in to trucks, Thomas, and The Wiggles.
I found this cute invite I might use!

Well, that's about it for now. Ready for another week and looking forward to a weekend in the mountains. Bring on the cool fall air and wide open spaces!
