Zoo Trip!

I've been wanting to take Webb to the zoo for a while now. He loves animals and especially loves to make animal sounds. We picked a great day to go down AND had Mimi and Pawpaw with us which made it extra fun! We went early and it was nice and cool. I tell ya, we are LUCKY to have such a nice zoo so close by. The facilities are so clean and the walks are shaded so you're not walking in the hot sun all day. We only saw the Africa exhibits but I think we'll be going back soon to visit more places. Here's our day in pictures!

Webb's too busy for a family photo!

Checking out the birds . . . isn't Mimi cute in her paper hat!

A tired baby with his new elephant.

Today we spent the day on the lake and rode over to Tamarac for icecream. I am a tired mama but so so thankful for these fun times with my family!

Happy Sunday Evening!

Mother's Day 2012

Happy Mother's Day to all my blog friends and followers out there! We had a great day here and I hope you did too. My day started by getting to sleep in until 8:00 and a little surprise when I came downstairs:

While I was sleeping, Daddy and Webster were down in his room playing and making me this sweet sign. Best.gift.ever.

We then ate a little yogurt:

Then got a bath and went to church:

Ate icecream for dessert:

And you charmed everyone with your sweet smile:

The rest of the afternoon was spent playing in the rain, reading books on a blanket stretched out in the kitchen floor, and dancing to Bob Marley.

Life just can't get much better.

I love you because . . .

When I go up at night to brush my teeth, I have to search all over the place for my toothbrush. Because you love it and carry it around all morning while we get ready. I've found it in my bed, on the floor by the trashcan, in drawers, or behind the television. I almost look forward to the search each night.

When you first wake up in the morning, you are a pure mama's boy. We snuggle while you drink your milk and then we read a book or two and snuggle some more. You love being cuddled up with your blanket and giraffe.

When we ride down the road, you talk about things you see and get so excited about finding the cows as we pull into the driveway.

When we watch Elmo videos on my phone, you sit so still and smile at the silly songs they sing.

When I pick you up from Mimi's or Donna's, you greet me with the biggest smile I've ever seen. And it melts my heart.

At night before bed, you bring me your books to read and always back up and sit down in my lap. You know there's a lap there for you to sit in and you won't read any other way.

After dinner, you get your giraffe and sit by the door to go down for tub-tub. As we walk downstairs, you are in such a hurry to get in the tub and runnnnnnnn into the bathroom as fast as you can.

You listen so well when we tell you no and redirect you. Most of the time. :) It melts my heart even more that you get very upset when we have to fuss at you and you immediately hug us and want to snuggle.

You have learned so many words lately: empty, dishes, cookie, tie, leash, let's see, sit, truck, MAMA.

When you and daddy play together, I watch and think how absolutely blessed I am to have two handsome men in my life.

When you go to bed at night and the house is quiet, I sometimes want to go wake you up so we can play more. You are simply contagious.

When we sit down to eat, you bring your little hands together reminding us to say the blessing. As we bow our heads, you just grin.

When I'm trying to settle you down for the night by rocking with you, you look at me with those big brown eyes. That soft, clean little face, and those little red lips. I wonder how daddy and I made something so beautiful.

I could go on and on, Little Webb. You are the absolute light of my life and you make every day on this Earth worth living. I wish I could bottle you up and keep you like this forever. I love you to the moon and back a zillion times.

Much Love Always,
Mama
